They are now in search for a UNIX Administrator to take charge of their UNIX environment, mainly LINUX, across all divisions supported by Group IT. Responsible for the configuration, operation and development of UNIX we are ideally looking for candidates with knowledge of Brocade SANs and HDS Disk Storage.
You will provide a wide range of support services to internal and external customers and be part of the Group wide infrastructure team, maintaining services that enhance IT capability in support of business demand.
Their technology is demanding and revolutionary, delivering intricate projects and services for businesses globally. You will have detail! ed knowledge of UNIX technology, such that you can operate the! Unix Infrastructure across all sites to maintain capacity, availability and performance. You will be responsible for the installation and testing of hardware/software and assist the UNIX Team Lead in all areas of UNIX support.
Your background will have covered hands-on experience of working in a Unix server environment. You will have a solid commercial awareness and an ability to understand how IT relates to a company and impacts its performance, and the ability to use this in decision making.
In terms of experience we are looking for extensive knowledge of one of the Linux flavours (RedHat/CentOS Fedora, Debian, Ubuntu or any other good Linux Distro), Unix (preferably Solaris), Linux performance tuning (including storage and network) and Scripting skills (korn, Bourne, Perl). Any understanding of web architectures, SAN storage solutions (preferably IBM DS range and SVC) and AIX will give you a distinct advantage.
