The Background
Due to impending retirement an engineering organisation, who are a world leading in their market, are looking for a Supply Chain Manager to cover all elements of the supply chain including purchasing, production planning and control and despatch to the customer.
The Role
As their Supply Chain Manager you'll be managing a team of 5 who are responsible for the day to day purchasing and production planning, whilst reporting directly into the Managing Director. You'll be a key member of the senior management team so will be expected to participate in the business above and beyond "the supply chain". Another non supply chain activity involved in the role would be some account management of a key customer so this really is a wide ranging role which will provide different challenges each and every day. Some of the key supply chain challenges faced include stock management (over 1.5 million part numbers) and solving ! the threat posed by using a single source for one of the key m! aterials required by the business.
You
You'll have experience of a similar leadership role with particular expertise in purchasing and / or production control within a manufacturing environment. And as you can see from the above systemisation is going to be an important part of this role so any experience of this would be highly beneficial (as would knowledge of ERP and / or SQL)
