North Railway issues a notification for the recruitment of sports persons against Sports Quota For residents of Andaman & Nicobar, Lakshadweep Islands.
Minimum Educational Qualification :
(a) For the post having – GP 1800 Pass in Matric or ITI or its equivalent
b) For the post having-GP 1900 & 2000 Pass in Matric or ITI or higher education
c) For the post having – GP 2400(Technical) Pass in 1st year B.Sc (Physics) or ii) Pass 10 + 2 stage in Higher Secondary in Science i.e. Maths or Physics.
d) For the post having -GP 2800 A University Degree or its equivalent

Period Of Reckoning Sports Achievements : The sports achievements of currents & previous two financial years will be taken into account for eligibility. Therefore, the sports achievements of on or after 01.04.2011 will only be considered
Examination Fee :
a) For the post having GP 2400 & 2800 -Rs. 60/-
b) For the post having GP 1800, 1900 & 2000 -Rs. 40/-
Note : i. All women candidates, SC/ST/Muslims/Christians/Sikhs Buddhists/Zorastrians (Parsis) candidates are exempted from payment of examination fees. ii. Economically backward class candidates whose family income is less than 50,000 per annum are exempted from examinations fees
Proficiency in Typing Skill : The Sports persons posted as Clerk or Sr. Clerk against sports quota should pass the requisite
type writing test within the prescribed period from the date of their appointment
Medical Examination : The sports persons recruited against sports quota shall fulfill the minimum medical norms for the post,for which he/she is being appointed
Probation period : All the sports persons recruited against sports quota will undergo probation period of two years
Service Bond : The sportspersons recruited against Sport Quota shall execute the “Service Bond”. The “Service Bond” period for the persons recruited against sports quota shall be of five years
